Think about the changes you have seen in your lifetime. Is it not overwhelming to think about the leaps and bounds in technology, medicine, and communication?
Think about the invention of the printing press. It was the first duplicatable way to communicate information to a large group of people. Then the radio was invented. The radio allowed communication globally. Within thirty-eight years of the radio's creation, it was reaching over fifty million listeners. When the television was created it only took thirteen years to reach the same amount of people. It took only four years to connect the same number via the world wide web. Facebook has over fifty million people connected in only two years!
Change is happening at a frightening pace. Change is inevitable and it must be embraced. Nothing stays the same. If it tries, it will likely die.
Today's leader must commit to "CANI." That is what Tony Robbins calls "constant and never-ending improvement." This commitment binds you to growth during the good times and the bad, the fast times and the slow. CANI can be difficult when the visible results lag or hiccups occur. Patience and commitment to growth and change will yield a harvest of desired results.
Being prepared for change and adjusting according to the environment are staples of a modern leader in our light speed world.
