You are severely limited in your control of the externals. You utlimately cannot choose and control your circumstances, your environment, and your life's events. What you can control is your attitude.
Lance Armstrong was disganosed with testicular cancer in 1996. In addition to that, his cancer had spread to his brain, lungs and abdomen. The doctors gave him less than a 40% chance of survival.
Lance could have thrown in the towel. Lance could have played the victim card. Instead, he used his championship attitude to tackle cancer. Lance endured two surgeries and months of chemotherapy. Lance beat his cancer, and his attitude was a key component. Now he, wearing a yellow wrist bracelet, rides for all cancer patients and survivors.
Winston Churchill said, "Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference." No matter what trial or triumph you are facing this moment, your attitude is paramount in determining the outcome. When you develop and nurture a positive attitude, you aren't complaining and bringing others down. You are focused on the end and the steps to improve your situation. You are an inspiration to others. You will become a leader at home, at work, and in service that will create a replicating movement of positive change.
What's your attitude today? Is it a springboard to success or a chain to defeat? Labels: attitude, cancer, chemo, choose, lance armstrong, leader, success, triumph, winston churchill
