Fact: According to Gallup 60% of your workforce come to work doing only what their job requires of them. They do it for a paycheck, nothing else. Only 25% come with the attitude of "any task, anywhere". They bring their "A" game and want to see the organization thrive. A staggering 15% of your workforce is disgruntled and working against your organization. Sadly, the numbers are getting worse.
The ipad, personal computer, smartphone culture has created a very self-centered ideology. That mindset carries over from our personal lives to our careers. My kids sing a song with the chorus "learn to be a servant of all." That's a great job description. That covers the janitor to the CEO.
Many workers carry a mental job description and use it as a ceiling for their job duties. Toss out that strategy and use your job description as the base, not the top. No more "That's not my job!" or "That's above (or below) my pay grade!"

To maintain the thirty minute turn around time, they pilots clean the cabin as needed. No one person is below or above helping getting the job done.
